Quest Driven Spatial Songs
Yunyu is a singer-songwriter and composer whose prolific works span film, installations and theatre. She specialises in musical/aural works (Quest Driven Spatial Songs) that adapt to where the listener is in space-time. Her main creative work Empires is a six degrees of freedom drinking song where listeners hear different music arrangements and lyrics depending on where they are in space-time. Her research is a UTS-Dolby funded project.
Yunyu’s related research has been showcased internationally, including at Ars Electronica (2023) and Siggraph Asia with Roland Japan. She has also received commissions from Percussion Australia, Taikoz for her piece When the Rain God Sings, Storm Lions are Born, which will be featured at NIME 2024 in Utrecht, Netherlands, and Ars Electronica 2024 in Linz, Austria.
Additionally, Yunyu has received funding from Music Australia to further develop her interactive, motion-based music scores this year.
