Bluespace
After postgraduate oboe study in Switzerland and France, Linda appeared at international contemporary music festivals in Berlin, Rome, Paris and Milan. She has been a guest artist at the Sonic Arts Research Centre in Belfast, and presented a new work at the NIME conference in London.
Linda’s PhD from the University of Technology, Sydney, explored new approaches to composition and performance with interactive audiovisual systems. This approach blends elements of theatre, dance and improvisation, culminating in new repertoire for the oboe.
The work Bluespace, composed and performed by Linda while at CCS, is based on Gaston Bachelard’s ‘Water and Dreams’. It explores relationships between water, sound, image and gesture with digital art by Andrew Bluff.
