CCS Members

Viveka Weiley is an interaction designer with a background in VR. He joined CCS in September 2006 to begin research into tools for distributed creative collaboration in mixed real/virtual environments.

Viveka holds a Bachelor of Design from UNSW CoFA. He applies that training to his work with computers, and is inspired by the work of Peter Morville on findability (Information Architecture), Don Norman on usability (Industrial Design) and Edward Tufte on readability (Information Representation Design).

Viveka has spent ten years in industry, working primarily in telepresence and online communities. Since 2002 he has been working in geospatial virtual reality through his company, Ping.

He is past chair of Sydney ACM SIGGRAPH, current chair of ANZGRAPH, and a member of the steering commitee for the upcoming SIGGRAPH in ASIA conference series.
