Dr. Linda Candy is a researcher inpractice-led methods for studying creativity in the arts and sciences. Shewrites articles about the creative process, collaborative work, the role ofcomputer support and the methodologies for investigating these areas ofresearch. She has a Bachelor of Arts, a Masters in Computer Aided Learning anda doctorate in Computer Science and has been a teacher and researcher in the UKand Australia.

Linda is a co-founder of the Creativity andCognition conference series sponsored by the ACM and is active in promotingawareness about creativity support environments in the arts, computing anddesign communities. She is an editorial board member of the Behaviour andInformation Technology and Knowledge Based Systems journals and has guestedited special issues on her subject area: for example, forthcoming in LeonardoJournal and the International Journal of Human Computer Interaction. She hasbeen a member of a number of international conference committees and haspresented her work in the UK, Europe, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and theUSA.

She was formerly principal scientist forCOSTART: 'Studies of Computer Support for Creative Work: Artists andTechnologists in Collaboration' a ground breaking project which investigatedthe role of collaboration between artists and technologists and was funded bythe Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council. She is presently anassociate of the Creativity and Cognition Research Studios at the University ofTechnology Sydney where she supervises practice-based PhD students and adviseson methods for the study of user experience.
