Bettina Brendel, Los Angeles, USA

Bettina Brendel, born and educated in Germany, arrived in Los Angeles in 1953, where she continued her studies at the University of Southern California. She was one of the pioneer abstract artists on the West Coast of the USA. Her Interest in abstract thought and imagery led her to study the history and theories of modern physics at the New School for Social Research in New York City. She subsequently met and corresponded with Nobel physicist, Werner Heisenberg, in Munich, Germany. Her unusual ability of extra-sensory perception enabled her to envision unexplored areas of nuclear particle physics. She developed these ideas in many of her paintings over a period of 40 years. The artist has been creating art on the computer since 1988. Her Gicle prints have been exhibited and collected in the USA and in Europe. She is frequently invited to present her work at various International Conferences on Art and Science.
