I will be attending the ACIS 2005 conference at Manly from 30 Nov-2Nov2005. There will also be a track on “IT, Creativity and Collaboration” chaired by Ernest and Alistair. Little Karl and my husband will probably also use this for an excuse to an outing to Manly and visit OceanWorld.

When browsing Finnegan’s webpage for spatial reasoning papers, I came across his commercial work on game play analysis. The tool he has developed might be interesting to some at CCS. There is a paper talking about the software: “Machine Learning for Semi-Automated Game Play Analysis”
The Paper is available as PDF here.

My Masters student did a practise talk for his Project B presentation next week on 24th November. His topic is “Knowledge Representation in Geographic Information Systems”. He has done a very good job in his project B implementation. His extension to AccuGlobe (a freely available GIS) can automatically infer qualitative spatial information. Automatic generation of qualitative information in GIS using “real GIS data” is quite novel, so we have been working on some conference papers.
